NUTRITION SERVICES
Nutrition: the foundation for healthy living!
AFC offers a variety of nutrition services to fit every individual's needs. Services include weight loss/ management, sports nutrition, management of diet-related health conditions, or simply learning basic nutrition principles. At AF we hold the highest standards; the staff dietitian, along with the entire staff at AFC, is highly qualified and our goal is to guide you along your path to wellness.

We're glad you're here, and that you've taken the first step towards a healthier lifestyle. But exercise is only a supplement to this lifestyle - nutrition is paramount. We understand that everyone is different, and it's ok if you need a little help - that's what we're here for. We will help you identify your goals, determine the best way to get there, and give you the education you need to make it happen.

AFC is now offering... Guided grocery shopping! This experience will teach you how to efficiently navigate a grocery store to choose the healthiest foods to meet your needs. Learn how to shop smarter by deciphering food labels and claims, enhancing flavor strategies, choosing healthy snacks for you and your family. Insurance Coverage:
Coverage is offered through Independence Blue Cross Personal Choice and Keystone Health Plan East Health Plans. These Plans offer 6 visits with our Registered Dietitian per calendar year or benefit period, dependent upon the individuals plan. Every family member under the coverage is eligible for this benefit individually!

ABOUT REGISTERED DIETITIANS (RD's)
All Registered Dietitians are credentialed by the Commission of Dietetic Registration. The R.D. after a name represents a trademark assuring that the person has completed a baccalaureate degree in food and nutrition, completed a dietetic internship of 900 practice hours, and passed a national registration examination in food science, clinical nutrition, food service management, infection standards, education and communication, and community nutrition. An R.D. must also take continuing education classes to keep their credentials.

All Registered Dietitians ARE nutritionists, however a nutritionist is NOT a Registered Dietitian. In New Jersey, there is no licensing for nutritionists yet, and ANYONE can call themselves a nutritionist and have little formal training and/or education. However, Pennsylvania requires a license to practice and is only available to RD's, as a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN).

John is registered through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Licensed through the State of Pennsylvania. John has been doing corporate and outpatient counseling for the past three years, working with a variety of clients ranging from children to seniors with various health conditions. He is credentialed through Independence Blue Cross and Aetna Health Care plans to provide in-network Nutrition Counseling services. He is in the process of completing my Graduate Studies in Education and is an Adjunct professor at Manor College in Jenkintown.

I emphasis educating my clients with the most accurate science based information, setting realistic goals, and formulating a road map to guide them to their goals.
