YOGA
Yoga is the science and art of living that deals with the whole person. It is calming the mind, and expanding awareness of the body through exercise, conscious breathing, and deep relaxation.

Yoga creates an atmosphere of internal peace and harmony, helping with the management of stress.

Yoga classes are available for all fitness levels several days during the week for an additional charge. For more information, please see the front desk on your next visit or e-mail us at jsgro@aquahab.com

PILATES
Get all the results with no pain, no sweat. Pilates is essentially core strength training based on the Joseph H. Pilates method of exercise instruction. Pilates promises that you'll feel better in 10 visits, look better in 20 and have a new body in 30!

For an hour, an instructor leads a client through a volley of positions on the floor. Repetitions are low, but concentration is intense. The stomach and the butt squeeze, the legs and arms reach. The subject uses muscles that have not been engaged in a long time and he or she will feel the change in their body and see positive results. Pilates works!

Mat Pilates classes are available for all fitness levels every day of the week. Private Yoga and Pilates instruction is also available to take your practice to a new level. For more information, please see the front desk on your next visit or e-mail us at jsgro@aquahab.com.

TAEBO
TaeBo was developed accidentally by martial artist Billy Blanks, who was trying to create a regimen for himself in his basement. Incorporating martial arts and boxing, then adding dance moves as that little something extra, Blanks himself developed speed, strength, balance, coordination, and awareness, while simultaneously getting a great aerobic workout. After introducing it in Boston in 1982, he moved out to California in 1989 and taught in his garage, and then in a small studio near Los Angeles. Billy Blanks World Karate Center opened in 1997 and he released his workout tapes in 1998.

Although many gyms teach aerobic methods similar to TaeBo (cardio-kick, tae kwan do, tae-kick), they are neither called TaeBo or taught using the same exact methods. The Aquatic and Fitness Center is proud to offer classes taught by the only TaeBo instructor in the Philadelphia area, Mikel Armstrong. Mikel studied under Billy Blanks himself and brings the same discipline, spirit, and will of his mentor into the classroom at our facility. This class is not to be missed. Challenge yourself and your body.

MASSAGE
Therapeutic Massage is an age old practice that is effective in improving the body's systems: your nervous system, muscular and circulatory system, and respiratory and skin systems. Massage is effective at relieving stress, nervousness, arthritic conditions, fibromyalgia, post-automobile accidents, insomnia, fatigue, muscle pain/soreness, poor circulation, stiff neck, post fractures, edema, athletic injuries, muscle cramps, low blood pressure, and anemia. With all those benefits, how can you say no? In just one session, you will begin to see immeasurable results and experience a revitalized and more relaxed you.

Massage is not included in your membership at the Aquatic and Fitness Center; however, the costs are 40% lower than the average day spa.
