JESSE BIDDLE DRAFTED TO PHILLIES!Bala Cynwyd, PA – Local Baseball Instructor Drafted to Phillies in the First Round
Congratulations were in order last night, as news of Jesse Biddle’s draft reached fellow coworkers at the Aquatic and Fitness Center in Bala Cynwyd. Biddle, an 18-year old, left-handed pitcher, is another story of local boy hitting it big. Since 2008, young Biddle has been growing as an Assistant Coach for AFC Baseball. Students who have trained with Biddle will now gain bragging rights that they have trained with the newest Phillies Draft, picked 27th on Monday night.
The draft comes as no surprise as Biddle is a local high school phenomenon. Biddle went 9-2, with a 1.06 ERA for Germantown Friends School this past season, striking out an incredible 140 batters in just 59 1/3 innings. His fastball tops out at 96 MPH.
The left-handed flamethrower is committed to play for Oregon next season, but being drafted by his life-long favorite team may change his mind.
Employees from AFC Baseball and Power Train Sports Institute are thrilled with the news, and now have even more reason to attend next season’s games – to cheer for their former co-worker, turned major-leaguer.
