YOGA
Yoga is the science and art of living that deals with the whole person. It is calming the mind; expanding awareness of the body through exercise, conscious breathing, and deep relaxation. Yoga creates an atmosphere of internal peace and harmony, helping with the management of stress. The Aquatic and Fitness Center at Jenkintown is proud to offer a most impressive Yoga program.
Beginner Yoga
Class is geared toward participants who have not done Yoga prior to class
Meditation
Relaxation, breathing, visualization, and some postures may be incorporated into class.
Hatha Yoga
Class typically starts with breathing and basic stretch, continues with balance poses, sun greetings and standing poses, and finishes on the floor.
Kripalu Yoga
Incorporates breathing techniques with a flow of postures and ends with a period of relaxation.
Anusara Yoga
Expression of moving and breathing from the inside out. Building strength and flexibility accepting ourselves as we are.
Body Logics
Active muscular stretching, strengthening, lengthening. Lots of core focus.
Gentle Yoga
Intro for beginners and for those who might need a slower paced glass.
Yoga is included in your membership.
PILATES
Pilates is an 80 year old physical conditioning method based on core stability and strength. Combining aspects of Eastern philosophy and Western calisthenics, Pilates is about ease of movement and mental concentration. It is not about how much weight you can lift, or working your muscles to fatigue. Pilates requires intense focus and detailed attention to form. Working from the inside out, deep abdominals engage, the legs and arms reach. Because Pilates activates deeper muscles than traditional strength training, you will feel the changes in your body, as well as see positive results. Pilates promises that you'll feel better in 10 private sessions, look better in 20 and have a new body in 30!
Mat Pilates is included in your membership.
