PERSONAL TRAINING
Personal Training is not just for athletes. It is not just about having bigger arms or a thinner waist. Personal training is a way for you to get the individual attention, motivation and guidance that you need to perform, look and feel your best.

When it comes to Personal Training, it should be just that, "personal." Our Certified Personal Trainers will take time to evaluate your needs and goals. We will help you identify and avoid obstacles that may distract you from those goals. And, we will help you to maximize your results by focusing your time and effort to be as efficient and productive as possible.

Your personal training analysis and plan will include:

Fitness Test
An assessment of your present fitness level including body measurement, body fat testing, resting heart rate, body fat, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular endurance, and restructuring of your current fitness system.

Nutritional Consultation
Our nutritionist can help you develop a personal fitness plan for healthy eating and weight management. You will:
  • Learn to eat right
  • Make wise food choices
  • Lose weight and keep it off
  • Reach your goal weight safely
  • Learn how to work with your busy schedule and still eat healthy. Also, learn the importance of balance in your diet and how to get it.

Regular Re-Evaluations
Maintenance plans and regular re-evaluations can be scheduled with your personal trainer every 6-8 weeks as needed.

Mike is a staff trainer here at the Aquatic and Fitness Center. He is one of the newest additions to the personal training staff. Mike graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Kinesiology. Through guidance from mentors during his internships at The Pennsylvania State University, Mike decided to pursue a career in fitness. Mike is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Mike came to AFC to be in a comfortable place where he could be in contact with all types of people to gain professional experience in the fitness industry. His main goal as a member of the personal training staff is improving the health of the members while educating then on safe and effective resistance training. Personally, he would like to improve his weight for the three major lifts, bench press, clean and squat. Mike's philosophy on working out is training the body as a whole. Mike enjoys working out in his spare time. He enjoys doing cardio 5-6 days a week with his favorite cardio machine being the rower. He does resistance training 4 days a week and his favorite body part to work out is his back. His favorite cheat food is buffalo chicken dip.
