New Pilates Instructor and Class Schedules
AFC Fitness in Bala Cynwyd is ready to re-launch our program with a new instructor and we are back in our Pilates studio!
Please welcome the talented Christopher Coan to our Pilates Reformer team! Chris is not only an experienced instructor, but will be a great fit for our members!
Christopher Coan’s Bio:
With over a decade of experience teaching yoga and Pilates, Christopher Coan is known for his ability to connect with people of all backgrounds and create an environment conducive to personal transformation so that his students feel supported and engaged.
Christopher was initially attracted to the philosophical aspects of yoga, as presented in The Bhagavad Gita, the seminal text of Hinduism. The spiritual concepts contained within this scripture deeply resonated with him. Further exploration led Christopher to discover healthy eating practices, and the discipline of the eight limbs of hatha yoga. These practices not only helped him to heal the chronic pain and fatigue he experienced as a result of heavy metal toxicity, but opened up a profound understanding of new possibilities for living life.
Christopher is a Kripalu Certified yoga instructor, and a classically trained Pilates Teacher in Philadelphia. He has taught thoroughly on the equipment and mat classes in both private and group settings. His classes are further influenced by martial arts study, Buddhist meditation and his personal experiences with alternative healing modalities such as acupuncture and Ayurveda.
Christopher’s passion and creativity are inspired by his underlying spirituality––which has guided him throughout his diverse career. He has a positive psychology certification from Kripalu, and is a trained rebirther, specializing in helping people heal through conscious connected breathing. He feels blessed to share the benefits of all of the healing modalities that he practices with the Greater Philadelphia community through private sessions, group classes and workshops.

+ Monday September 19th demos will be held on the half hour from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
+ Tuesday September 20th demos will be held on the half hour from 7:00 am – 9:00 am and 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

+ Wednesday 9:30 am
+ Thursday – interested in a class on Thursday anytime 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm? Let us know.
