What is HBOT?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy involves breathing 100% pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber. This process increases the amount of oxygen your blood can carry, promoting faster healing and improved cellular function throughout the body. By delivering oxygen at higher-than-normal atmospheric pressure, HBOT helps oxygen reach areas with limited blood flow—supporting recovery in ways traditional therapies cannot.

How does it work?

During a session, clients relax in a comfortable chamber while a trained technician administers the treatment. The increased pressure allows oxygen molecules to shrink and penetrate deeper into tissues, including inflamed areas, the musculoskeletal system, and even the brain. This enhanced oxygen delivery supports tissue repair, reduces swelling, and boosts the body’s natural healing processes.

Sessions at AFC

All sessions must be purchased at the AFC Fitness Front Desk and scheduled directly with HBOT tech. Sessions can be purchased at a single session rate or packages, with a discounted session rate. See the club for current pricing.

OZONE Sanitizing

Ozone (O3) is a highly reactive gas, made up of three atoms of oxygen. These free radicals can oxidize almost anything after very short periods of contact. This incredibly powerful oxidizing sanitizer/disinfectant has been proven to kill bacteria, mold, and viruses, including the COVID-19 virus. More powerful than over disinfectants, it can kill germs 3000x faster.

Conditions

HBOT delivers powerful healing by reducing inflammation and saturating tissues with oxygen—helping ease chronic pain and speed recovery for orthopedic and neurological conditions.

Testimonials

I started using hyperbaric (HBOT) treatment to help expedite recovery and reduce inflammation after intense training/workouts and sustaining a number of hockey injuries earlier in my life. I noticed after my 5th or 6th session, that I not only had more energy but was much less sore participating in those physical activities. As a 38 old year looking to stay fit and keep up with my active routine/lifestyle, I would highly recommend getting into hyperbaric treatment on a regular basis.

Hockey Injury

I suffered a work-related brain injury. I was not responding to conventional treatments. When my doctor asked me if I wanted to try HBOT, I didn’t know what it was nor what to expect. However, after speaking with Dr. Larry Moses, I had a much better understanding of the potential benefits of HBOT and was ready to begin treatments. The hyperbaric chamber did exactly what the doctor said it was going to do: speed up the healing process. During my first session, I went into the chamber with a terrible headache, irritability, a hard time focusing, as well as sensitivity to light. After a ninety-minute session, I felt like a new person. After receiving almost twenty hours of HBOT, I felt as if I never suffered my original injury!

Brain Injury

I suffered an injury to my foot while working for the Philadelphia Police Department. I was diagnosed with a navicular fracture in my right foot. I was ordered to wear a walking boot for four weeks. In June, I was given a CT scan and it showed that the fracture had worsened. I was then instructed to use crutches and have no weight-bearing activity. I remained on crutches for eleven weeks. At this time, I went for a follow-up CT scan and it showed some healing but the fracture was still visible. Obviously frustrated, I went for a second opinion. My physician suggested that I was facing a possible surgery because it appeared to be a non-union fracture. It was around this time that I began Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) with Dr. Larry Moses. After a few sessions, I began to notice that there was much less aching in my foot and I was able to walk with almost no discomfort for the first time since the injury. I continued to HBOT for a few more weeks and began to see some light at the end of the tunnel. I feared my foot may never be the same again after six months of almost no progress. I went for a final CT scan, which showed no signs of the navicular fracture and complete healing of the foot. I attribute my healing to HBOT. I am currently in therapy and almost ready to return to full duty status at work. I am so thankful for finding this option and I would recommend it to anyone with a similar injury.
