Gentle Yoga

Our Gentle Yoga class is geared toward those who are new to Yoga, those who want to deepen their knowledge of basic Hatha Yoga and is wonderful for people of all ages and stages, including those suffering from stiffness and arthritis. Class is a gently flowing style of postures and breathing exercises to improve health and peace of mind.
Power Flow Yoga

Power yoga, also known as power vinyasa yoga, is a dynamic form of yoga. It places emphasis on building strength and so expect a workout at a power yoga class.
All Levels Vinyasa Yoga

All Levels Vinyasa Yoga is a traditional Vinyasa yoga class that features numerous modifications to make the practice accessible for yogis of all levels. During this class you will link movement and breath to attain balance of mind and body.
Pilates Mat

Pilates Mat is a great way to strengthen your core muscles, as well as aligning the whole body using fun exercises that challenge and balance you.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Gentle Flow Yoga

No Yoga experience required. Appropriate for all ages and fitness levels. Move through poses designed to warm -up your body, increase flexibility and strength while experiencing deep relaxation. All levels.
Yoga Flow

Yoga Flow class will be a mixture of meditation, breath-work and energizing movement. They usually begin with gentler movements to warm up the body, then move into progressively more challenging flowing sequences.
Hatha Strong

Chair Yoga

Not everyone can get up and down off the floor easily making traditional yoga classes difficult. If you have any health issues, Chair Yoga is the ideal class for you to try! With the help of a chair anyone can practice yoga and experience the same benefits of increased circulation, balance, flexibility, mobility and strength. Chair Yoga is incredibly relaxing in part because of the heavy emphasis on breathing techniques and relaxation.
Yoga Sculpt

Yoga Sculpt incorporates small hand weights, cardio, and bodyweight strength work in a yoga flow to amp things up and break a sweat! Work all the major muscle groups for a full-body workout with plenty of time to stretch it out and settle into a sweet Savasana.
Gentle Flow Pilates Mat

Re-center and balance your body with light movement and deep stretching will leave you feeling long and loose! Gentle Flow Pilates Mat will have a deep focus on core strength, stretch, and recovery to help elongate muscles. The active stretching and recovery will energize your mind and body.


Yoga Stretch

Yoga stretch is a gentle flow mixing the basics of yoga postures with stretching exercises. This class primarily uses a basic warm up as well as the classic Yoga sun salutations to warm up the body before moving deeper into stretching poses that will be held for longer counts in co-ordination with one's breath.
YinYasa Yoga

YinYasa Yoga offers a combination of mid-pace vinyasa flow and longer hold Yin postures, offering an ideal mixture of relaxation and invigoration. With a focus on alignment but a fun freedom to play with new postures, this class will broaden your range of physical capabilities and flexibility through breathwork.

Yin Yasa flow offers a combination of mid-pace vinyasa flow and longer hold Yin postures, offering an ideal mixture of relaxation and invigoration. Pranayama practice and music are incorporated, and students are highly encouraged to bring their own blanket/towel (or multiple for extra support!).
Slow Flow Yoga

Core & Stretch

This 45-minute class you will engage in a mix of strengthening and flexibility exercises that leave you feeling both energized and relaxed. The Group Fitness classes at AFC Bala are my jam. I prefer to workout in a group setting, enjoying the interaction between class members and instructors. Our instructors motivate me as well as keep me safe by correcting my form. Meghan brings energy, music and new moves to every class she teaches. She started at AFC teaching an aerobics dance class which I loved. I am currently loving her Barre classes, Sculpt and Shred and Core and Stretch. Her class focuses on all muscle groups as well as time to stretch. I take a strength class with Charlene who puts us through exercises to build muscle and tone our bodies. She constantly walks around the room giving encouragement and correction when necessary. We work with different equipment each week. Rick teaches Spin. He is part D.J., motivational speaker, and chair dancer with great music. I can’t help but sweat every class. Kristin is my Mat Pilates teacher. Her class is more Zen (after Spin), which is the perfect addition to my training. Her music choice is wonderful and she always challenges us to move our bodies to stretch, lengthen and tone. Core and more (aka: high intensity) with Olivia is fun as she uses her music, singing and dancing around to distract us from the challenging workout. Her 3 minutes of EMOM (every minute on the minute) is epic. Jill is now changing up her routines to keep us on our toes for Barre class. Each instructor reminds me to breath, hydrate, modify, if needed and challenge myself. Thanks to Kristin who is always listening to member’s suggestions and looking for instructors to best meet our needs.
